DSR Demolition has an in-house Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Manager who works with the directors and site staff to ensure that our operations are as healthy, safe and environmentally friendly as possible. We recognise that as a demolition company we have a responsibility to limit our impact on the environment, and to keep our staff and members of the public safe. We do this by focusing on several key areas:
We have comprehensive auditing procedures based on our ISO management systems of Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety, which involves:
> Company-wide internal audits conducted monthly by the QHSE Manager;
> Quarterly management reviews held by the directors and the QHSE Manager;
> Regular safety audits on all our sites, sometimes by independent auditors.
These processes underpin our day-to-day activities to secure our continuous improvement. They have strengthened our service delivery and helped us get into the NFDC.
Our staff receive regular training to refresh their health and safety knowledge, in addition to their tool box talks and projects briefings that are delivered on site. All our site operatives hold CCDO cards and our excavator drivers are qualified to CPCS Demolition Plant level.
Our recycling rate is over 95% for most of our projects. We use the NFDC’s DRIDS tool to assist us in locating suitable waste and recycling plants, which in turn has helped us to maximise the proportion of demolition arisings that we recycle.
